Therapy for women in South Carolina

You can appear put-together and still feel anxious, disconnected, or like you are never enough.

I support high-achieving women across South Carolina in healing body image struggles, disordered eating patterns, perfectionism, anxiety, burnout and life transitions. We meet online, from Charleston to Greenville to Sumter.

This may sound familiar

You are the one everyone leans on, and you have quietly stopped expecting anyone to ask how you are.

You were raised to be gracious, so “I am fine” comes out before you have checked whether it is true.

Food and your body take up more room in your mind than you would ever admit out loud.

You keep everything running beautifully and still feel strangely far away from your own life.

You have thought about reaching out before, and then talked yourself out of it.

You are tired in a way that sleep does not touch.

None of this has to become a crisis before it deserves care. If you recognized yourself even once, that is enough for us to begin.

Finding the right fit

Being understood matters more than being nearby

Many of the women I meet have tried therapy before, often with someone kind who simply did not understand food, body image, or what years of perfectionism do to a person. That is a disheartening thing to carry, and it was never a sign that you are hard to help.

Someone who already speaks this language

You will not have to explain what a good day with food means, or justify why your body feels like a problem to solve. This is what I work with every day, and you can arrive mid-sentence.

Room to be honest

In a close community, being seen can be its own reason to stay quiet. Meeting from home means you can say the things you have never said out loud.

Care that is not limited by distance

Whether you are in Sumter, Rock Hill or Hilton Head, you are not limited to whoever happens to practice nearby. You get to choose the right fit.

For military families

When your life moves with someone else’s orders

Deployments. Solo parenting for months at a stretch. A career that begins again every few years, and friendships that have to be rebuilt each time. It is a great deal to hold, and so much of it goes unspoken because everyone around you is holding it too.

The part women name most often is the loneliness of starting over. You find someone you can finally be honest with, you stop explaining yourself from the beginning, and then the next set of orders arrives.

What I want you to know

  • We do not have to stop when you move. I can work with you in South Carolina, California, Florida and Utah
  • We can plan a PCS together long before the boxes come out, so your support holds through it
  • If you move somewhere I cannot follow, I will help you find the right person and make sure nothing gets lost in the handover
My approach

How I work

My work blends nervous system regulation, somatic and trauma-informed approaches, and identity-level rewiring to create deep, lasting change.

So much of what you are carrying is not only in your thoughts. It lives in your body and your nervous system, which is why understanding a pattern is so often not enough to change it. We work with both, building awareness around your thoughts, sensations, behaviors and beliefs.

I will never ask you to go somewhere you are not ready to go. We move at your pace.

Across the Lowcountry, the Midlands and the Upstate

All sessions are online, so you can meet from wherever you feel most comfortable. Many women find it easier to open up from their own space.

The Lowcountry

The coast and the islands, where the season brings visitors and the pace changes with them.

Charleston North Charleston Mount Pleasant Hilton Head Island Myrtle Beach

The Midlands

The center of the state, with its universities, its base communities, and a lot of women holding several roles at once.

Columbia Sumter

The Upstate

The foothills and the mill towns, where specialty care can be the furthest away of all.

Greenville Spartanburg Rock Hill

I also work with women anywhere else in South Carolina, including Beaufort, Aiken, Florence and Clemson.

How sessions work

Eastern Time, mornings and early afternoons

I practice from California, three hours behind you, so those tend to be the easiest hours for my South Carolina clients to protect.

Nothing to download

I send a private link that opens in your browser. A quiet room and headphones if you have them, and you are set.

Licensed here, and happy to be checked

Trusting someone new is a big ask. South Carolina publishes every therapist licence through LLR Online, so please look mine up if that helps you feel easier.

Your hour stays yours

We meet at the same time each week and protect it together. Consistency is where the real change happens, so I would rather help you choose an hour you can genuinely keep.

Questions you may have

Do I need to live in one of these cities?

No. I can work with you anywhere in South Carolina. Those cities are simply where many of my clients happen to live, and part of why I work online is so that the smaller towns are not left out.

I would rather nobody knew I was in therapy

That is a completely reasonable thing to want, and nothing to apologize for. There is no parking lot and no waiting room. You log in from home, what we talk about stays between us, and you are in control of who knows anything at all.

We may be relocating in the next year

Tell me early and we will plan around it. I am licensed in South Carolina, California, Florida and Utah, so a move between those states changes nothing but the clock. If you are heading elsewhere, I will help you find someone good before you go.

I have tried therapy before and it did not help

Please tell me that on our first call. Often the earlier work stayed with talking and insight, which can leave the feeling itself untouched. I work with the nervous system and the body as well, and for many women that is the piece that was missing.

What happens on the first call?

We talk. There is nothing to prepare and no form to complete. You share what is going on, I explain how I work, and you decide whether it feels like the right fit. There is no obligation either way.

If you are not sure you are ready

That is one of the most common things women say to me, and it is not a reason to wait. You do not need the right words, a tidy version of your story, or a clear idea of what you want to change.

You can come in unsure and we will begin there. Nothing is asked of you on a first call except that you turn up as you are.

Let us start with a conversation

A first call is free, and there is no pressure to book anything afterwards. Tell me as much or as little as you want to, and I will be honest with you about whether I am the right person to help.
